PRO Ethernet LTO appliances built on the existing SymplyPRO LTO family, empowering organizations with secure, shared access to up to 4 x LTO tape drives over a 10Gb Ethernet iSCSI network.  The LTO tape drives are presented over the ethernet network to a host OS as an iSCSI target so they can be utilized by data protection and archive applications as if they were a SAS or Fibre Channel LTO drive, thus ensuring broad interoperability.

This results in maximum block transfer sizes to the LTO drives across the Ethernet network providing a performance up to 2000MB/Sec, while integrated data acceleration technology ensures optimal performance without straining host system computer resources. Resultantly the SymplyPRO Ethernet appliances provide a remarkable 20% performance increase over conventional SAS-connected LTO drives. 

Unparalleled Configuration Flexibility

SymplyPRO Ethernet appliances are available either with integrated LTO drives in the SymplyPRO Ethernet LTO, or as the SymplyPRO Ethernet Bridge which is designed to connect to external standalone or automated LTO drives only.

The SymplyPRO Ethernet LTO models, support 1 or 2 Half-Height LTO-7, LTO-8, LTO-9, or LTO-9 Full-Height drives internally. A SAS Expansion Port allows the appliance to connect to a further 1 or 2 LTO standalone drives, or drives within a tape library for a powerful mix of standalone and automated drives providing maximum flexibility.

SymplyPRO Ethernet Bridge is a 1RU appliance that functions a performance iSCSI to SAS Bridge with dual 10Gb Ethernet interfaces to one SAS SFF-8466 port that supports up to 4 x SAS connected LTO drives either standalone or within a LTO library.

The SymplyPRO Rackmount SAS LTO drive delivers an affordable environmentally friendly solution that businesses can rely on for backup and archiving of data. All SymplyPRO Rackmount  SAS drives are fully compatible with Linear Tape File System (LTFS) software providing massive interoperability and providing customers with a non-proprietary file format for long-term cold storage, that is easy to migrate and exchange between stakeholders.
